I used to scoff at these words. Really.
I've played for a gazillion weddings in church and sat through many many vow exchanges.
And every time they got to the "obey" part I would roll my eyes. At first when I was younger I would do it "in my head" and not actually make a face. As I grew older and became a little more daring, I would ACTUALLY roll my eyes, look over at some of my buddies in the choir and we'd be smirking or exchanging 'they're crazy' looks.
Um. Well. Guess the joke's on me then huh?
LOL.
Following Cowgirl Up's latest post, I was just thinking that I should officially make Mondays Dom-appreciation day in this part of the world. It's one of the more regular BIKSS-visits days, so I could definitely make it work.
The problem is, now I need some suggestions as to HOW I can commemorate it:

ReplyDeleteMy wife is not my Domme, but I show my appreciation by writing her a thoughtful note about how important she is to me and how much I love her. She has also written similar notes for me. To us,our notes to each other are more important than any present.
Also, for her birthday, I cooked a meal for her.
Either or both would show your appreciation.

We did have "obey" in our vows -- by accident, because the priest who was scheduled to perform the service was in the hospital and replaced by (no kidding) a priest who was out for the day from the priest retirement home. I wrote a little about it and what it came to mean later.

DeleteThe word "obey" was in our marriage vows. It was the eighties and the minister where we lived didn't give couples an option. I remember Ian saying at our rehearsal what a colossal joke that was, and everybody laughed, especially me. :D
ReplyDeleteI think that is a lovely idea HoH appreciation day, CG had a wonderful suggestion. I think perhaps I will make Ian a nice dessert every Sunday night. He loves dessert and I rarely make it. I also think I will resurrect my sexy underwear from the bottom of my drawer and wear them on dessert nite. :)
I have started bringing my husbands pjs to him when he showers in the evening, a little thing, I know - but compared with how I was it says, "I want to do little things for you." :)

Well, I actually did the breakfast in bed thing this morning! He loved it. I also wrote him a note listing all the many things he does that I am grateful for. He read it while eating. It was way better than the morning paper! We're going to his favorite restaurant later, and I've offered to be the designated driver so he can enjoy more than one margarita. Later, I plan on doing all the *work* while he just lays back and enjoys ;) I think your idea of once a week is great! I may try that too.

Or you could write him a sweet note and put in his car when he isn't looking and then when he leaves he would be surprised with your note:)
One time I did a "52 things I love about you" for Mr. B......I took a deck of cards and wrote a reason on each card as to why I loved him and bound them all together into this cute little book.
Or you could give him a massage! Oh those are always nice.....maybe fix him his favorite meal, then give him a massage afterwards.
Okay I am just going on and on! Sorry about that.....I get carried away at times:) LOL!

Personally I like the cooking naked idea, though be careful you don't splash anything hot on the important parts! And I'd throw in eating dinner naked as well. The dessert after that meal ought to be fantastic!
