My niece is camping out here for the week while she trials a new position at a client's place near my home. It would take her a little under 2 hours to travel there from her own home, but I live really close to the job site. So she's roughing it out in the living room on the sofabed. And I think she's having a blast. At least there's no mum to nag her about this, that and the other. Just an aunt who is obsessive about laundry - so I grab her stuff and wash 'em with mine when I'm ready for a load. She is rather amused at my faux disgust at her re-wearing her PJs. OK. It's not *quite* 'faux'.
In any case, I cook most days for myself anyway, so she has home-cooked food to come back to after work. She doesn't mind eating out on her own, but if I'm cooking and she doesn't have plans with mates she's happy to come back for grub.
She's been here for 4 days now and has discussed the possibility of bunking here for the rest of the 3 months that they're offering her a contract for. I've said it's ok if she's happy camping out in the living room with no proper room and walls, and she seems quite comfortable with that idea.
My worry was that she wouldn't have any privacy, seeing as how she likes to hole up in her room at home - pretty much like me - but she assured me that since everyone else is holed up in OUR rooms she doesn't feel like there are a lot of people coming and going. And this is true - the tenant, the caregiver, and me - we pretty much all stay in our own rooms when we're home and don't come out unless we need to pee or grab something from the fridge. I mean, if we need to talk to each other we text. Yes. Really.
Unfortunately, this means there will be almost NO updates on the kinky front cos the house will be off limits for BIKSS except on Friday nights when she goes home for the weekend.
But it does mean that we'll be expecting more date-nights out.
We were so happy with the new chicken and waffle place he discovered last week that we went there again yesterday to try one of their burgers... and we had an ice cream waffle for dessert this time. Yes, it's still great waffle. And yes, I could eat there every week. My waistline would object tho.
Thats a full-sized dinner plate. That's a large waffle. And that's an extra large scoop of ice cream on the huge waffle.
And then I had a waffle-coma. That's like a food-coma but waffle-induced. Probably cos I had VERY little protein and NO veggies at that meal. (For more on why we feel sleepy after a heavy meal, CLICK HERE.)
Remember we wanted to try a burger? Well, we split it into two, and I gobbled down the egg that was sitting on top of the breaded chicken. Then I popped a handful of fries into my mouth and I knew by then that if I ate anymore I would have no space left for the waffle. So I doggie-bagged my half of the burger for today's lunch. 😆
Essentially I had half a waffle, a handful of fries and most of a sunny side up egg for dinner. BIKSS says if I keep this up, I'll end up just looking at food and getting full from breathing in the fumes. That might save me a lot of money, I'm just saying.
And now, the numbers -
Average 12,348
Highest 14,446
> 10k steps - 6 days.
Yup. It was a good week for walking!
Happy weekend everyone :)
