Karl Unboxed aka The Bag Post

Remember I said BIKSS bought me a bag

It arrived today!

The box was in another box. I wonder why the things that I've been receiving recently have all been double-boxed... aren't we trying to save the earth? Or is that over?

There was tissue, foam, cardboard, protective plastic everywhere.

Ah... ain't she a beaut? I now have absolutely NO MORE SPACE in my wardrobe for pretty bags. That's it for me. I have reached the end of my handbag adventures. The end. Finito.

I have something for every occasion - a larger light blue shopper/tote, a bright vermilion open handheld mini tote, a navy dome crossbody/shoulder bag for more dressy-casual dos, and now this black boston bag which is, strangely enough, the ONLY proper black handbag I own. And that's all the leather bags aside from a couple of wristlets.

My other bags are cloth / canvas, and mostly consist of casual crossbodys, totes and duffels. Oh, and a couple of large-ish hobo bags which I love for days when I need to comfortably carry many-many-things. And according to THIS article, there is something called a lady bag - which I think just means any ol' handbag that a woman were to dump her daily stuff into. In which case, I have 2.

If you'd like a quick crash course on more styles of bags - have a look at this very informative site.

..... 20 minutes later... Oops I got sidetracked.

And now I'm back from looking at a pretty Aigner mini bag on Ebay. LOL. Isn't it pretty?  I guess that might count as a lady bag too!

Hmmm... I do like Aigner... I have two. And mini makes 3? Maybe?

Beauty Product and Veggie Haul

I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I had been watching some Youtube videos by one Dr Youn on skincare etc... and proceeded to order some stuff on iHerb. Well my haul came today... and I was excited to try some of the stuff. I decided I would try the Reviva Labs hydrating 5-day trial pack (That's the blue banner box, second from the left in the bottom pic.)

The 4 tubs are stacked on top of each other in the box.

 <- My Under-$60 skincare haul!

It doesn't smell great, but then I suppose that's also because their products don't have added (and unwanted) scents and perfumes. Actually, it's pretty clean - no parabens, no phthalates, no nothing from what I've read.

After applying the serums I actually felt my skin tingle a little bit from the glycolic acid ( I think). I'm usually not sensitive to skin care products, but if I get a little tingle that goes away quickly enough, and there's something IN the product that might account for it, then what the heck. I like to think that it's because it's working!

(On that topic - not all skincare SHOULD tingle... read this for more info.)

If you're in the US, check out their website in the link above, and if you're outside of the US it might be a bit costly to ship (or to fulfill a $350 order) so try looking at other online merchants. I use iHerb cos they offer free shipping for orders above $64 (or something like that... ) to where-I-live.

The rest of the stuff I haven't opened as I still have my regular creams and serums to get through. But I thought I might get started immediately on the Reviva labs ones. First, hydrating, then when I'm done, I shall move on to the firming set, then finally, the anti-ageing. I haz a plan. Mwahaha.

In the meantime I also use Laneige's Multiberry Yoghurt repair pack - it's a yummy fruity scented overnight moisturiser - or a lanolin cream from Australia. I seriously have way too many moisturisers but I really do need the stuff. My skin is too dry for my liking.

I have also recently been added to a vegetable rescue group in my neighbourhood. Yesterday was my first time taking part in their weekly Saturday veggie rescue.

After collecting the car from the workshop with BIKSS (it's fine now!) he dropped me off at the place and I helped to haul all the stuff from the van / car to the distribution area.

ALL OF THAT would have been chucked into the bin! Isn't it a pity? I got me some potatoes, a chayote, 3 dragonfruit and a couple of perfectly good onions - and a rather sad-looking head of romaine lettuce. Besides not being pretty anymore and some pieces sporting obvious blemishes, all of them turned out perfect on the inside. I did remove about 1/4 of the outer leaves of the lettuce, but there was still plenty left for eating!

That's one of the dragonfruit I chopped up for eating with dinner last night, and the peeled and halved chayote and potatoes sitting in water to leech out the potassium before I cook them for dinner later.

'Haul' in 'haul' it was a pretty good day! LOL.

Unexpected Dinner and Spoiled Roger

We were supposed to go to an open air dinner place where they turn containers (like from a ship) into eateries.

This presented some problems.

1) The car was shuddering... something about spark plugs... so that was pissing BIKSS off rather a bit.

2) He thought he knew how to get there but turned out it wasn't where he thought it was, exactly. Altho it was nearby so off we went.

3) The carpark was full. It was crowded. And really, there were lots of stupid people around who couldn't figure out how to conduct themselves in a busy lot. Cars blocking other cars, people walking willy nilly and not looking out for vehicles. It was enough to drive him insane.

4) We made it to another nearby carpark and found a space after a few minutes. But the dining areas were packed as anything. You'd think there wasn't any Covid and things had gone back to normal. We abandoned that idea and I pulled up the discount restaurant app - we found a place 15 mins away.

So dinner was at a Thai restaurant we'd never  been to (or heard of) but the service was great, the staff was friendly (the guy who seated us addressed me by name -this is rare in my country - cos he had a copy of my booking from the app) and we ended up eating a very satisfying mookata set for 2 at under $50 with drinks!

For those of you who don't know mookata... it's basically a soup moat around a grill mountain in the middle. There's pork fat on the very top that will cook and drip oil through the lines you see there, and then you chuck meat and seafood on it to "fry" up.

Meanwhile, veggies and anything else you don't want to grill get thrown into the soup ring surrounding it.  I'm not a fan of grilling, so I generally dump everything in soup.

Their set comes with sausages, spam, squid, prawns, clams, mussels, pork, chicken, veggies, glass noodles and an egg. And it was definitely a very well-priced meal, even without the discount.

I think we might try their ala carte menu if we go there again... it's not terribly nearby to home, but hey, have car will travel right?

After dinner we came back to mine to break open the strawberry gin I ordered from the gourmet grocery online shop.

Here was a $70 bottle that I got for $40. Not a bad deal. And because I'm not a drinker of liquor no more, I thought we might try it together and I could flush my sip down with tons of water.

After all, BIKSS is the gin lover, not me. I'm a whisky gal. I was, anyway.

Can I just say, it was sweet and summery and totally delish! The original plan was to try some together and then let him have the rest of it to take back. The bottle is still on my desk. We had some on ice, to taste, and then with some 7-up. It was good. So good in fact, that I let the mother and caregiver try some this morning and they both gave it a thumbs up.

But I'm not surprised - between mum and dad, it was my mother who was a fan of the spirits.

And now I'm planning on getting some other flavours.. perhaps when this one is done. Or almost done.

Of course because it's imported I pay way more than someone in the UK would, I think. Here's the link to the store - TIPTREE GIN

I'm just glad we went ahead and got this - I'd never heard of fruit gin before.. but better late than never.

We got round to fooling around some, and of course it was all lighthearted and playful and very confusing, what with BIKSS talking about good girls and bad girls and naughty girls being cute = good girls... and oh anyway... he was trying to distract me while he attacked my nipple (after that tipple) and everything went great. We lay in bed and talked, and nothing else would have happened except all that cuddling and kissing got Roger got hard again.

This time tho, I just wasn't as ready as normal and I suggested getting some lube, cos lube feels nice too... and we hadn't pulled it out in a while. Extra drippy = too much lube = Roger freaked out and didn't wanna come.

"Don't waste all that lube" I said into the pillow under my face...

And he got off me and lay on his back and I suggested he finish off by hand.

But the lube wasn't the greatest by-hand medium so he said "We need different lube"...

No problem.. I grabbed some wipes and as he cleaned his hand and Roger off I pulled out my trusty jojoba oil.. in the past it did the trick... lasted till he finished! And we even used that for our yoni / lingam massages. (Er, I realise now, I never got round to posting his massage... oops.)

In the end he almost came twice with me giving him a handjob and sucking/licking his balls, while he busied himself with twiddling my nipples and fingering me, but no dice. Nope. Not happening.

Grrr. He really did want to cum tho, I could tell... so I said - pussy? And got into bed.

Roger entered me, and ta da!

I smacked his head lightly after he came. Spoiled brat!

This was the first time I'd seen BIKSS chuckling AS he came. It was NOT funny. I think I might also have called Roger an asshole for being so difficult! Argh.

Time Flies - What's Been Happening In My Life

                  Has it been 11 days since I last wrote?

I made 2 more purchases at the online gourmet grocery store...

                                                    and got freebies both times. They really are quite generous.

They gave me a 40%-off code when I made my very first purchase

I have used it up. It's full price from now on. Sad.

But I also am now the proud owner of strawberry gin, more artichoke truffle,
and I've sorted out some birthday gifts for my colleague.

The father's birthday happened this week and for some reason doing up a nutritional info sheet on gout got me really weepy. It reminded me of him.

Mum and I went to church for Mass on his birthday. Mass was ok. The volunteers manning the entrance / seat-allocation counter (because, you know, #Covid argh!) were NOT. They were annoying, unthinking, and just blindly following the rules without paying any attention to the fact that we were ONE FAMILY.

Anyway, I was annoyed enough that I stopped feeling sad. There is that I suppose.

I have new slippers for that slightly dressier carefree casual flip-flop look.

Not the super flat beachwear ones that I wear to work.

(I should stop wearing those to work. I look like a slob. Hence the new ones)

They're a little short so my heel sticks out a little bit.

Blame not-true-to-size online ordering.

But wearable nonetheless - and very comfy.

We managed a short excursion out this Monday to the chocolate warehouse, where I bought mostly chips and healthy-ish oat biscuits. No. He bought me the biscuits.

 And we snuck in some cuddle- and play-time               on Monday night too.
                                             Thankfully it did not go like this.

I also finally quit procrastinating and spoke to the lawyer. It's weird that I now have a lawyer.

He will make some calls to the necessary government agencies re my apartment and find out what I can or can't do with it when I die, and then we'll go ahead and draft something out next week.

He. HE will draft something out. And I will be poorer by 15 hundred dollars. Or so...

All that discussion about writing my will left me feeling old. So I've been watching Dr Anthony Youn on Youtube for anti-ageing tips. Here's one of his videos :

Inspired, I bought some skincare things - from iHerb as well as from my favourite Australian essential oil brand, ECO. I had points to redeem - $19. That's one free serum. Why not right?

And on the topic of shopping,

BIKSS bought me a bag. I am super excited!

When they arrive I shall show you more pictures.

(Oh, and I'm learning to give myself a simple home pedicure cos my nail place has gone out of business. No thanks to you, Covid.)

Dinner and Fun Romping - Don't Hold Your Breath

We went out last night to a busier part of town where one of the restaurants we like (the social enterprise one) teamed up with a cafe / bar! So while bar grub and finger foods (and alcohol) were NOT part of the discount from the dining app we use, the food from their section of the menu was!

It offered a slightly different fare but we both agree that the food here was probably slightly more yummy than their main store. Which is a pity cos the crowd, lack of service and awful reservation system were just too many strikes for good food to make up for.

In the past whenever we've booked our table with the app there was never a problem when we got to the restaurant. This time, the lady said we should have called the restaurant directly AFTER making the reservation to confirm it. What? No. That's not how it's supposed to work. She asked if we wanted to sit outside cos they were full. At the standing bar type area. What? No. I'm not eating dinner standing by the side of the street in the drink / smoke zone.

Eventually we got a table but it was just too much for my aspie brain to handle.

Like I said tho, it's a pity cos the food was really good.

Garden salad. Fresh veggies. Good tangy vinaigrette.

Crackling pork belly. Good sized portion, very crispy crackling, and not too fatty.

The fish-and-chips was awesome. Only these weren't the chips I was expecting. Still, the batter was crumbly and crunchy, the fish was flaky and moist, & the portion was generous for the price. And the 'tube' of fish in batter held up really well to cutting-using-just-a-fork. Which is what I did.

They do takeaways too... so I suppose if we ever have a craving for any of their dishes we could always call ahead and order takeout.

After dinner we ran out of there - no, actually, we were asked if we had finished with our meal cos there were more people waiting for tables - and after paying the bill - which, thankfully, I checked, cos there was a billing error - we hurried out of there and went looking for a late night dessert place. I'm glad we didn't pay full price for THAT experience.

We found a waffle and ice cream hole-in-the-wall where the ice cream was TOO ambitious. Too much stuff in it, not enough actual ice cream. The rum n raisin was ALL rum and raisin, and the chocolate oreo was just chunks of oreo! The ice cream wasn't rich / milky / oomph-y (BIKSS' word, not mine) enough. The waffle had a homemade flavour to it, but also didn't have enough bite / volume / substance. Still, for a quick $10 waffle fix, it wasn't too bad.

Doesn't that look like a snowman?

After dinner we came home and hung around in bed. We cuddled and kissed... and touched and hugged and did all the things we haven't had a lot of time to do recently. Covid has seriously curtailed the sneak-kisses and face-in-sleeve nuzzling when we go out, cos #masks right?

And having weird work hours now (for BIKSS) in addition to the mother being here has also made it more difficult for us to have long, languid lie-ins.

So since we got the chance, we did all the touching and kissing and nuzzling we could. At one point he sneakily pulled off my undies from between my legs and I found myself on my back with my legs in the air, feet touching, and having to hold them up with my hands. It's the classic baby-grabbing-toes pose.

Only I'm no baby. And BIKSS was having an extra serving of dessert with his face in my girly bits while my legs were up there. He wasn't the only one who got extra dessert tho. I got my share of his popsicle stick later on during round two.. on my side, with his crotch in my face and my hands running all over the back of his thighs... and butt, and balls... yumm!

Even with our limitation on noise he managed to infuse last night's session with the essentials:- Nipple-pinching, check! Hair-grabbing, check! Choking and slapping, check! The thing that struck (pun not intended) me most was how all that "roughness" was perfectly balanced by all the kissing and stroking and rubbing and touching... much more so than we usually engage in. Perhaps we've been starved of a good and proper lovemaking session for far too long.

(And as for not holding your breath - BIKSS said he would be happy to write a post about last night's encounter... but just so you know... it might take a while.)

Shopping and Eating

Disclaimer - Please shop at your own risk. I will not be responsible for unnecessary spending of money. If your Dom / Daddy / DH / HoH (and / or female equivalents) should be upset with you for squandering their hard earned cash, know that you're on your own and I shall take ZERO blame for it.

LOL. If you haven't yet, head over to Morningstar's to read about her recent urge to purchase :)

Meanwhile, over the holiday weekend as we celebrated our country's birthday, every store was announcing this sale or that, with discounts ranging from the miserable to the unbelievable.

I bought a slow cooker for 10 bucks. It's great. I've stewed up many things since it arrived.

I also picked up my UAG phone case from the store. This one wasn't a recent purchase, but it only arrived over the weekend so it seemed like it was part of the whole shopping spree weekend. (Much like the couch... which was ordered some weeks before.)

I got the black and clear shell which ends up looking like black and white (cos my iphone is white)... see pic. If you haven't heard of UAG, here's a review you may wanna read to find out more about them. It's an old review but the points are still valid, altho' the newer cases don't all have the "rivets" they talk about in the article.

(This is a GOOD thing.)

What I DID buy over the big sale weekend was a new wallet and some clothes. It was either a $70 Obermain (that's almost half the retail price!) which didn't quite match my preferred style of wallet, or this $40 functional piece. You obviously know which one I picked in the end.

This pair of pants turned out more brown than this. But it's still pretty great. And I suppose I'm shorter than the model in the pic cos they're FULL LENGTH below-the-ankle pants for me. But for 10 bucks, I'm not complaining.

Next - I love lace. So I couldn't resist this one. It *might* be a little hard to wear a bra under that if I don't want it showing... but maybe I'll wear a neon coloured one for intentional showage. I'll have to ask BIKSS if he thinks it looks tacky and cheap.

(I've got my eye on a Lipault bag at the moment... but I really don't need it right now.  In the words of Morningstar, le sigh. One can browse tho right? And I only started looking at all because I wanted to take a step in the right direction health-wise and quit my big heavy shoulder bag / tote. I really should be thinking about switching to bags made out of lighter materials... hence the looking at Lipaults.)

BUT ENOUGH OF THAT.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We went to dinner on Tuesday. We'd been to a nice fancy restaurant in Jan this year where BIKSS ordered the beef cheek. And that started him on his "best beef cheek" quest... until Covid happened. (You'll need to scroll down down down when you land on that post I linked... you'll see the beef cheek and the fancy restaurant!)
I think he's back on the hunt.
This time we went to the more casual sister-restaurant of that fancy place... where the food was cheaper but the portions also *seemed* smaller?? I'm not a hundred percent sure. The space was interesting tho... and the food was yums!
1) Truffle fries. Because hey, truffle anything rocks my world.
2) Beef cheek. Tender. Delicious. Perfectly mashed potatoes underneath. I wasn't so keen on the slightly-too-hard onion rings tho.
3) By far the winner that evening - a classic Greek salad.
The decor was unusual... we don't see a whole lot of this type of thing where I live.
I wouldn't mind going back there again!
13 August 2020
It's So Hot That...
 I had some Bach Rescue pastilles in my everyday carry-all.
When I opened it up a couple of days ago I found that it was, itself, in need of rescuing.
The little pastilles had melted into one big mass of sticky sweet jelly-esque blob. I'm just glad they didn't turn runny and leak out into my bag!
When I showed mum she immediately said "Don't throw it out! What a waste!"  So I cut it up into smaller chunks, put them back in the tin and stuck the whole thing in the fridge.
(And this wasn't even from being out in the sun for any extended period of time. The workplace has AC, the buses and trains have AC, and the rest of the time the bag is indoors. This is meltage from when I'm home and I leave my bag sitting on the dining chair.)
Gah.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In other news, the couch came today. (And yes, I bought it online! Isn't it awesome what the internet can do for us these days?)

The old couch (with grey and white checked throw) is perpendicular to it and together they kinda make a very odd (but homey and cosy) L-shaped suite.

I've since put on a baby blue paw-print blankie, a shawl for a throw, a cushion that says "mama" and a 3-foot-long We Bare Bears grizzly stuffie (that's the brown one) that we call BoBo. I don't know who named it or why we call it that. We just do.

This is what it looks like now - mis-matched, but perfect. And I love it!

Celebrating My Country's B'day

 I've blurred out the vehicle commanders' faces. Just cos, you know, privacy.

There were crowds lining up along the streets.

We had 5 mobile columns going thru different neighbourhoods.

I'm glad my place was near enough one of the routes so that I could take mum out to catch a glimpse of it. Clicking on the fotos should bring you to an enlarged version. And in case you were wondering what these mobile columns are that I'm on about -

This year’s Mobile Column will feature 66 assets from various military / defence agencies with each route comprising about 13 vehicles and 60 to 70 participants.

About 100 front-line fighters and essential workers from various groups such as healthcare, essential industries, and the social services sector will be aboard the Mobile Column vehicles as they make their way across the country.

The Mobile Column will also travel past various hospitals / dedicated quarantine locations where it will perform a salute to all healthcare workers for their spirit and resilience as they battle against COVID-19.

Scraping - GUA SHA & My Slow Week and Long Weekend

On Tuesday I woke up with a really bad pain from neck to shoulder blade. It usually happens when I go to bed overtired. Then I sleep like the dead - ie. not moving very much or at all - then when morning comes I have a stiff neck.

After taking the mother for a quick routine checkup at the medical centre on Wednesday I decided that I couldn't take it anymore, so I rang my regular massage place and managed a last minute appointment. Thank goodness my masseuse was available at such short notice.

After the first 5 minutes she decided that I was in such bad shape that she informed me she'd do some "gua sha" for me at the end of the session.

For those of you who are not familiar with this technique, you can read about it at this link or watch this video

Trust me when I say the actual scraping / spooning DOES NOT HURT. If you've had this done before and it hurt like a mother then your practitioner / therapist was likely doing it incorrectly. Trust me - I'm Asian so I know these things LOL. And even I will only go to a native Chinese therapist to get this done. Or a Traditional Medicine Practitioner who's licensed by the Medical Board in my country if I absolutely need one and my usual therapist is unavailable. But a lot of them who open practices here are also originally from China or have studied the art in China.

While many Chinese/Asian people will tell you it works because it gets the Qi unblocked or releases toxins thru your pores, I, being of a more scientific-based persuasion will say it's all hogwash. I don't believe in any of that.

What I *DO* believe in is the basic medical principle that if something is hurt, you need more blood in that spot to make it better. That's a simplification of course. But it's fundamentally true. You get a cut, you bleed, the blood clots, things in your blood and plasma and serum all work together to mend the skin. And ta da - new skin.

When something is injured you get inflammation - aka your body's own attempt to heal the thing that's causing the harm - infection / injury / toxin. Again, this involves blood flow.

"When inflammation happens, chemicals from your body's white blood cells enter your blood or tissues to protect your body from invaders. This raises the blood flow to the area of injury or infection. It can cause redness and warmth. Some of the chemicals cause fluid to leak into your tissues, resulting in swelling."

So I get it. Sometimes we don't want the PAIN and the SWELLING that comes along with it, but the basic point is this - if a body part is injured the brain sends more blood cos the shit in your blood is what's gonna heal you.

The simple logic - Muscle ache  - Let's cause more injury - More blood goes to the area -> Healing is escalated.

The more scientific explanation can be found here :

The Evidence and Science behind Gua Sha

And while I don't do this all the time to ensure I have an adequate supply of blood going thru all my organs or to prevent my Qi from getting stuck... I have had successful outcomes in terms of pain relief whenever I've had it done.

Perhaps I should think about adding it to my regular massage sessions.

**** Please note that a lot of spas etc are currently promoting facial Gua Sha and Jade rolling. It's similar, but it's not supposed to cause any petechiae to appear. The idea is the same - lymphatic drainage, massage... blah blah.. but it is NOT supposed to cause any redness.

This one is a great video -

Between the stiff neck and the post-gua-sha redness and general muscle aches from compensating for a painful left side, not to mention the scraped foot from this post,I feel like I've had a really slow week exercise-wise.

I'm having a long long weekend too - we're celebrating National Day and the office was on furlough on Friday, and Monday is a national holiday. There will be tanks and other floats moving through the neighbourhood streets, fireworks in some parts of the country, and some televised concerts throughout the day. There'll be some fancy aeroplane formations flying across our skies... and parachutists dropping into selected open fields - all in an attempt to still bring the ra ra celebratory spirit to the people despite not having an actual main parade like we do every year.

It sounds interesting... and mum is looking forward to heading out to a nearby street where we hope to see the mobile column drive past!

I'll take photos!

Meanwhile... perhaps I'll go look for a Gua Sha tool to buy online.

McGreedy for McGriddles

Thursday *LAST* Week - 1045am.

Me - OMG DADDY! McGriddles are back! I tried ordering some but I think they've closed the orders for breakfast! Feck. Even tho officially it's till 11am.

No matter. I shall order 'em tomorrow morning when I wake up. I'm not working tomorrow cos it's a furlough day so I can get some delivered!

Friday came and went
Saturday came and went
Sunday came and went

Monday :

Some women live for the grand romantic gestures. I enjoy them too. I don't mind the truffles, the chocolates, the flowers.. wait, not flowers, I don't do flowers... the jewellery...

But I like it even more when Daddy remembers what I like :)

I couldn't pick up my McGriddles from the security post at my workplace, so he left it on my door for the mother and caregiver to pick up when they got in from breakfast at the markets!

So I finally got my Griddles for lunch!

And writing about this is making me want more... maybe I'll remember when I wake up this weekend.

Practise Makes Perfect and a Quickie

OK, so I know I said I wouldn't be writing as much but then since I had time I figured I would write up a bunch of posts and schedule them. No time like the present to practise right?

~~~
BIKSS came by on Monday night. I didn't want to walk cos I had hurt my foot (scraped the top of it on the bottom of a plastic chair and lost some skin in the process).
We cuddled and talked about our day... then as it was getting late he said "Ok, I'm gonna have to go soon... "
And I said "No, cannot!" cos we had just been talking about something else and the person in our story kept on saying "no, cannot, no, cannot" and so I was teasing him in the same fashion.
BIKSS : "But I have to go"
Me : "But we haven't had sex!"
B : "We can have sex?" (I was on my period before...)
Me : "We can have sex!" (I grinned)
B : "And you tell me NOW?"
Me : *sheepish grin*
B : "Well then..."
Me : "Quick, take off your pants!"
And Roger was already prepped and waiting to go!
I laughed and was slightly amazed - "What? What happened? Why are you already hard?"
B: "Cos you said 'We can have sex'."
Me : "I say 4 words and THAT happens?"
B : *Shrugs* "Hey, what can I say, it's you!"
What followed was the quickest romp ever~ I put him in my mouth to get him nice and wet and then he popped Roger in me and after some serious pumping we were done!
Sometimes, the [ Wham, Bam, Thank you Ma'am Lidl girl ] type of sex is JUST what I need!
After cleaning up I mentioned the instant hard-on again, more out of wonder than anything else.
B : "Hey I'm 50, be thankful!"
Ok, he has a point. :)
What? New Blogger? and Going Digital
I suppose the day has arrived.
It tells me legacy blogger is still available but only till the 24th or some such thing. There's no point in reverting to the old format if it's not going to be an option forever I suppose. May as well start getting used to the new version.
If I'm not writing as much / often you can blame the new Blogger. When I actually have to use my brain to figure out stuff I tend to do less of it. So until this interface becomes more natural to me, I might not post too many things.
For now, just some random thoughts. I'm ripping my CDs so I can give the physical discs away and store all my music as MP3s. There is Spotify, you say. But I don't want to pay for a music service cos I'm not much of a music listener. As BIKSS puts it, I'm more of a collector. I like knowing that I have this or that piece when I need / want it. I have some of it already done from way way before... so those will be easy enough to donate... but I also have a ton of movie soundtracks / cirque du soleil albums / musicals that are staring me accusingly in the face as if to say "Well, you chose all your pop and jazz albums when you were looking for music to put on the thumb drive before - now it's OUR turn!"
The problem is that I'm fussy and obsessive right? So the details have to be accurate. Album title, song title, year, artist... that sort of thing. And sometimes digging around on the net to fill in the blanks leads me to discover there are other songs / albums that I'd like to download. And then I get distracted and the rest of the discs go back into the case till tomorrow... and tomorrow...
At least I can't say I have nothing to keep me occupied.
Can't Comment on Cutiebootie's Blog and POSE
Hi is anyone else having trouble commenting on Incessantly Spanked? Cutiebootie if you're reading this, email me! I couldn't find an email address for you on your profile.
Yes, I'm following your blog, but can't seem to leave a comment.
Also, if I haven't been to visit your blog in a while, I do beg your pardon. I've been doing a lot more pottering about the house lately to try and organise and declutter and make more space for the mother's stuff.
It's not a bad thing tho, it means I actually have to make a decision on what to keep and what to donate... and i really DO have more stuff than I need (or would ever use).
I'm planning to set aside some time today to visit all you lovely people out there.
Aside from the sorting and cleaning, I've also been watching FX's POSE on Netflix. And if any group of people could understand and accept non-mainstream sex / sexuality, it would be my blog-friends. I know some of my straight-laced vanilla friends would definitely be uncomfortable with the topic, let alone watch a whole tv series.
You can read more about the show's impact here -
Pose is set in the world of 1987 and "looks at the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York: the rise of the luxury universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world."
You can watch the trailer here :
And this is the Season 2 trailer   -
I'd never heard of Ballroom or Houses before, so this was quite enlightening. I'm glad that TV still manages to teach me something.
